2020 was a year like none other. The COVID-19 pandemic placed unprecedented strain on our
country and its citizens. People with disabilities found themselves more isolated than ever.
Programs closed, services halted, and even the most basic life activities were impacted.
Luckily, those we serve were not alone and our staff stepped up to fill the void. We adapted
our programs to the crisis and continued to serve our program participants while keeping
them safe from this deadly outbreak.
For our mental health programs, 263 residential program participants found a safe haven in
the Easterseals NJ residences. Our case management programs kept 929 individuals
connected to their doctors and community resources. Plus, over 1000 patients found
counseling, medication, and telehealth services as part of our Centerpath Wellness clinic in
Plainfield, NJ.
Our supported employment program worked with 128 job seekers and helped them find work
despite record unemployment. The Career Pathway Connections program helped 138
workers who are deaf or hard of hearing to access adaptive technology, job readiness
training, and employment. Meanwhile, our Senior Community Employment Program (SCSEP)
assisted mature workers (55+) in accessing the job market. And lastly, our Extended
Employment program still helped train and employ 309 program participants.
The Easterseals NJ Day Habilitation and Residential Programs were able to provide 464
individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities with adapted programming,
including virtual services and limited, socially-distant, in-person offerings. And the Financial
Management Services team ensured all 673 enrollees were able to manage their state
budgets and keep their services.
This is the impact of our programs and without your support, NONE of it would be possible.
