Giving Tuesday is a global day of philanthropy that is powered by collaboration, community and social media. Celebrated on the Tuesday after Thanksgiving, and following the nationally recognized shopping days of Black Friday and Cyber Monday, #GivingTuesday kicks off a season of giving when many are focusing on the holidays and charitable end-of-year gifts.
#GivingTuesday and Easterseals New Jersey is a natural fit – both are made successful through community and coming together – and we are asking YOU to join us. Be a part of the movement and give – whether it’s some of your time, a donation, a gift or the power of your voice by sharing our campaign – every bit of it makes a difference.

Did you know that $50 can help transport someone to a job interview or the training that they need? $500 can help to house someone who is recovering from mental illness or addiction? $1000 can help give a child the experience of a lifetime by spending time at our own Camp Merry Heart, while allowing their family and caregivers much needed respite time.
Take Karen for example:
Karen, who is one of Camp Merry Heart’s vets, has been coming to camp since she was just 12-years-old. Karen is now an adult in her 50’s and continues to come every summer and absolutely loves it. She loves painting and listening to music, but especially enjoys spending time with the counselors. The counselors adore Karen which is another reason she keeps coming back!
Karen’s parents thought Camp Merry Heart was a great opportunity for socialization and a fun summer. Now, around 40 years later, she still attends the camp and has made amazing friendships and life-long memories. Knowing how important the experience is to their Karen and her fellow campers, her parents have dedicated many hours of their own time to help renovate our camp. They want to make sure everyone has a chance to experience the best Camp Merry Heart has to offer and we’re thankful to have their support.
