We are excited to expand our employment services work and mission!
Employment Services opened a new office in Woodbury, New Jersey to train deaf, hard of hearing,
low-vision, and blind job seekers in preparing for community employment. The new office expands
their Career Pathways Connections program and was funded by the Division of Vocational
Rehabilitation Services (DVRS), Commission for the Blind, and a grant from Comcast. Thanks to the
overwhelming support, this office will help provide a path to employment for people who are deaf,
hard of hearing, and deafblind.
A very successful Ribbon Cutting & Open House was held on October 3rd through the cooperative
efforts of the entire Employment Services staff led by director Daniela Rivera and Vicki Joy Sullivan,
manager of deaf and hard of hearing services. The Employment Services team also successfully
executed the 2nd annual Deaf Connections event just a couple weeks before led by manager Lauren
Weishaar.
