Strengthening Staff Bonds Across Services

The Residential Community Living Services program staff in Hunterdon and Warren County took a trip
to Easterseals’ very own Camp Merry Heart to hold our weekly staff meeting. While on the beautiful
grounds, we participated in team building exercises, and were given a tour of the campus. We got to
see the gorgeous lake, the adaptive climbing wall, and their new archery area. We had a great time and
gained a new appreciation for the work they do to provide recreational opportunities to children and
adults with disabilities. Shout out to the camp staff for allowing us to use their facilities and experience
       their beautiful rural landscape!

        Community Employment: I'm Lovin' It

Satyen has been working at the Raritan Valley Work Center
for many years as part of Easterseals Extended Employment
program. He’s a hard worker who always greets you with a
smile and a friendly wave. He recently expressed interest in
taking part in our job sampling opportunities. This program
allows him to learn about community-based employment
through on-the-job experiences. One of his placements was at
a local McDonald’s, where he wanted to learn about janitorial
work. He was allowed to shadow staff and learn about their
needs. He got along with everyone there and quickly picked
up on what the job required. The manager was so impressed,
                                                    he offered Satyen a job!

This is his first job out in the community and was so proud of
his work, he posed for a picture with his first paycheck!
